Black headed caiques

These gorgeous pets are not yet well known to pet buyers in Australia, But in America they have a strong following and are regarded as the clown of the parrot world. They are certainly intelligent, entertaining, cuddly, playful and feisty, A little bundle of excitement and joy.
I often walk into the room of caiques being hand raised by one of the breeders we recommend at Parrots Australia to find them lying on their back playing dead. I stand beside the cage and see the glimmer of mischief in their half closed eye. They then spring to life and literally "get off" on my reaction of surprise.
They totally steal your heart with there antics. They need interaction and affection, they can be kept singularly or in pairs.But overall these birds are a godsend to people living in units that cant have a noisy pet but still wish to enjoy the companionship of an intelligent playful pet parrot.
Typical of everything we recommend at Parrots Australia, the caiques are all parent started to enrich them with a robust immune system, and although these guys arn't big in size . They certainly make up for it by being big in personality.
I think the pictures pretty much say it all, they are a 10 in the cute category. Easy care with maximum return. Once you have owned a Caique everything else will fall short.
